The few hand made stamps that I did back with wood, I used crazy glue or the equivalent that is found in the stores. I also scratch up the wood and the reverse of the stamp so the glue gets a better grip.I use whateverwood I have around. I recently tried the slat type wood sold at walmart in the crafts department. I think it will work well.....Chuck and Molly
